Silk and Felt Artist/Artisan

Ann has always had a passion for natural fabrics/textiles and she grew up drafting her own patterns and making clothes using these materials.

When she retired Ann had plans to do so much and has tried her hand at many satisfying crafts, mainly using fibres and fabrics. Ann’s daughter introduced her to felting … and she was hooked.

Ann loves creating works using silk fabric and fine merino wool – she felts the material into wraps and scarves, creates felt hats using fine merino wool and has felted ‘pods’ with wool to create bowls to use to hold various things, such as jewellery, chocolates and glass beads. Ann also dyes her silk fabric to match the coloured wools.

Creative Artisans is a not-for-profit organisation created to provide a channel for talented local artists and artisans to display and sell their creations. We are located in Ballina in Northern NSW and our artists come from around the Northern Rivers area.
