Loves working with Pearls
I have always had a Creative Streak. If I wasn’t sewing my own clothes, I was sewing children’s clothes or making curtains or quilt sets or Bridesmaid Dresses or else it was Pottery or Macrame or Lead Lighting. I like to give everything a go.
In 2005 I completed a couple of Jewellery making, Pearl Stringing and a basic Silversmith Courses at the Gold Smith School in Brisbane and progressed very quickly using Pearls in my Designs. Since then I have continued to learn many different techniques, some self-taught and some from online classes.
The Pearls I use are varied; Sea Pearls, Freshwater Pearls, Biwa Pearls, South Sea Pearls and Majorcan Pearls. I add Semi-Precious Gemstones and Swarovski Crystals and different beads to add interest to many pieces.
As well as making classical pearl pieces, I love to play with colour, texture and different shapes to enhance the brilliance of pearls.
So my pieces, especially earrings, are never dull.
My catch cry is Affordable Elegance.
