Penny was a qualified Graphic Designer and later in life she took on the challenges and joys of working hands-on with watercolour and mixed media.
Inspired by colour, shape, and texture determine Penny’s choice of subject, composition and medium. Travel, photography, and keen observation also play a role in her creative process.
Penny’s background has instilled a need to represent detail, highlighted by drawing skills, use of stylisation or pattern and sometimes ‘pen & ink’ techniques.
Penny has won numerous prizes/awards, exhibited in many group exhibitions and sold artwork/commissions extensively.
Journey highlights include: Solo Exhibitions: 2007 ‘Paintings for the Birds’, Fettlers Shed, Robertson NSW; 2012 ‘Spice – the Colours of Life’, BDAS Gallery Bowral; 2020 ‘Step Back in Time’ Retrospective, Links House, Burradoo NSW
